Photo London 2026 Relocates to Olympia with 100-Pound Prints

Photo London entered a bold, transformative new chapter for its 11th edition. Running from May 13–17, the United Kingdom's premier international photography fair bade farewell to its historical home at Somerset House and opened its doors inside the grand, expansive architecture of Kensington's Olympia Exhibition Centre. The move to West London allowed the fair to dramatically expand its physical footprint and introduce an array of ambitious, localized curatorial formats, offering a more fluid viewing experience for international collectors.

The defining ethos of Photo London 2026 was a conscious push toward democratization and market inclusivity. In a calculated effort to foster a new generation of younger art collectors, the fair actively incentivized and encouraged emerging galleries to present smaller, higher-edition limited prints. Strikingly, prices for these contemporary works started at just £100, directly dismantling the elitist perception that fine art photography collecting is exclusively reserved for the ultra-wealthy. This accessible entry point injected a tangible, bustling energy into the exhibition halls.

Curatorial highlights across the vast Olympia space were both historically significant and geographically diverse. The fair’s public program featured a breathtaking Steven Meisel retrospective, alongside the debut of the new "Source" section, which spotlighted solo presentations of historically overlooked and marginalized international artists. This balanced approach was further enriched by an incredibly powerful gallery representation from contemporary art spaces across India and Africa, giving prominent platforms to global voices exploring complex post-colonial identities through experimental lens-based mediums.
